- No food or glass on the pool decks. It makes for quite a mess when crackers and snacks get spilled and wet on the pool deck. If snacks are absolutely necessary, please try to leave the area the way you found it and help the later classes get the same clean experience and the earlier ones.
- No swimming before or after class. As I am the lifeguard and instructor for the class while it is in progress, I am not life guarding the entire pool. Safety should always come first, and having to dive away from a class to save another, takes away from the safety of the class in progress. Every class gets a devoted 30 minutes and should be free of distractions. Hot tub use is alright if they can touch in the middle of the hot tub and as long as there are no hotel guests. (Not all hotel patrons love splashes in the hot tub) If parents want to sit in the hot tub with their children, you must pay the pool fee at the front desk to do so.
- Swim suits are required and clothing changes must be in a locker room. Not all families or hotel guests feel comfortable with the changing of suits to clothes or vice versa on the pool deck, or swimming in skivvies on a day a swim suit is forgotten. To ensure everyone feels comfortable, and the hotel guest’s interests are respected, swim suits are always required, and before or after class changing should not be on the pool deck.
- U sick/I sick Policy – Everyone gets sick, but if your child is contagious please refrain from coming to class. You would miss one class, but if I get sick, I would miss up to 16 classes a day. Runny noses, slight coughs are fine, but if they aren’t in school that day, or have a fever, diarrhea, vomiting, chills, etc. please try to help keep the rest of the swimmers healthy.
- Swim diapers are required for anyone under 3 years old or not potty trained. Many families use these already in their water activities, and they are $1 at the pool if you need one. The chlorine in the pool kills bacteria in spit up, urine, boogers, but not as effectively on feces. In the case of a “sunken log” or a “brown cloud” the pool would have to be evacuated by all patrons, shocked, and left alone for 3-5 hours depending on the facility. For your safety and others I would request skipping class if your child has soft or runny feces on the day of class.
- MISSED CLASS/MAKE-UP POLICY – Missed classes happen. Things come up or your children get sick. I understand but unfortunately there are no make up classes provided unless it is the instructor cancelling, pool problems, or weather condition that keep us from having class.
- IF I CANCEL CLASSES / FACILITY ISSUES – As I am the only teacher, there are days that I get sick or have a family emergency and have to cancel classes, or the pool has an issue such as no heat, or lights, or unbalanced chemicals and there for classes can not be provided there that day. I will do my best to contact you as soon as possible to let you know of the cancellation and the reschedule. Typically with a cancellation on my or the facilities part, we add another week to the session which is in the schedule as a potential make up day.
- Complete Cancellation, Withdrawal from Class and Refund Policy
Cancellation before the first day of class
– 100% money back (void BBay coupons)
Cancellation after the first lesson
– 85% money back (void BBay coupons)
Cancellation after the second lesson
– 24% money back (void BBay coupons)
-In extreme circumstances (broken arm, etc.) a credit may be applied for a future session.
(Example: Susie broke her wrist after week 3 with 5 weeks of class left. Susie would receive a credit for 5 classes in the next session and only have to cover the cost of 3 classes.)
